Artist
Reino Ermitaño was formed in Lima, Peru, in late 2001, by ex-members of Melquiades and Darken, looking for a thick and heavy sound, mainly influenced by ‘70 rock bands and metal, and incorporating doomy elements of their own leading to find a convincing melee of darkness, melody, rock 'n' roll and epic sounds. The band's lyrical approach was mainly poetic, with lyrics dealing with introspection, the search for knowledge and emotional release as well as the person's primitive need for magic, ascension and ritual. In late 2003, Reino Ermitaño self-released their first full-length Reino Ermitaño, recorded at Vituchi's Studio by Tavo Castillo, and co-produced, mixed and mastered by Lalo Williams. Three years later Brujas del Mar was released on PsycheDOOMelic Records label. In 2008 the successor Rituales Interiores saw the light of day through I Hate label. Veneración del Fuego was released in 2012 again through I Hate. The last album Conjuros de Poder was released in 2014. The band splitted up in 2020. The band name translates to Hermit's Kingdom, btw. The last line-up consisted of: Marcos Coifman on bass Tania Duarte doing the vocals Eloy Arturo on guitars Julio 'Ñaca' Almeida on drums Facebook User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
