Red Poet is a high-energy progressive hard rock music group based in the greater Chicago area that creates dynamic, unforgettable on-stage performances. As artists, the band is always exploring and refining their ever-expanding catalog of songs. They have played with a number of notable bands at top Chicago-area venues, including Mojoes with Twelve Foot Ninja, Nothing More, Emperors and Elephants, Cubby Bear with Train Wreck Symphony and Adenine; Otto's Nightclub with The Last Vegas, Fists of Rage, and Devils and Angels; and Walter Payton's Roundhouse with Kosa Nostra, Deadman's Wake, and Along the Parallel. Red Poet includes founding member Rion Sheehan (vocals), Jaysen Infamus (keys/dj/vocals), Greg Gura (guitar), Adam Hoye (drums), and Stephen Gyuricza (bass/vocals). Sheehan formed the band in 2005 as an output for his emotionally driven lyrics, exploring a range of topics from death and religion to love and social injustice. His unique voice oscillates between a subtle, clean tone and angst-filled roars. It's backed by gritty guitar, rolling bass, powerful percussion, and intricate keyboards and mixing--making Red Poet a formidable sound and onstage presence.
