Red is Recovery are a five piece indie rock band hailing from Orlando, Florida. Founded in January of 2005, Red is Recovery began their musical journey in Tallahassee, Florida. After releasing an initial three song demo for fans in the summer of 2005, Red is Recovery was immediately receiving label interest. Due to an overwhelming demand in the North Western region of Florida for more material, the band went into the studio to record their self-titled debut. Released on November 11th, 2005, the self-titled “Red is Recovery” became a staple of the local Tallahassee radio and bar scene. While vigorously performing and promoting the album throughout the Florida region, Red is Recovery refined and perfected their craft as a live act. Through Jesse Mazur and Justin Gillespie’s hooky riffs and melodic guitar solos, to John Tarpey and Rich Bolandi’s rhythmic undercurrent, Red is Recovery became one of the largest bands in the Tallahassee music scene for much of 2005-2006. On June 23rd, 2006, Red is Recovery released their second EP entitled, “Goodbyes are New Beginnings”. Ironically as the title of the three track EP suggested, “Goodbyes are New Beginnings” would be the last release from the band in the north-western region of Florida. Determined to expand their audience throughout Florida, Red is Recovery moved to Orlando, Florida in the summer of 2006.
