“The tail end of Led Zeppelin and the bullet of Guns ‘n’ Roses” – The Reading Chronicle Formed in 2006, Berkshires Red Burns Black are a return to good, hard rock ‘n’ roll. With influences such as Guns ‘n’ Roses, Led Zeppelin and Nirvana, theirs is a sound that takes the best of these influences but is at the same time undeniably modern, raw and relevant. Not many bands can say that their first public performance was at Reading Festival, something Red Burns Black had achieved within 3 months of being together, playing lead single “Lady” to a 400 strong crowd in the Nokia “Rock up and Play” tent. A performance so popular that the band was invited back to headline the stage on the final night of the festival. After nearly 2 years of touring the South England circuit, this Berkshire 5 piece are starting to break through with UK tours, a growing fanbase, and a new EP and single release being planned for 2008. The bands potential has already been recognised by the press, with features in Berkshire weeklies “The Reading Chronicle” and “Bracknell News, “Wessex Features” and airtime on BBC Berkshire’s unsigned show and Essex based Phoenix FM. Phoenix FM was so impressed that it has had the band in for numerous interviews, a live session and a show dedicated entirely to the band, its influences and forthcoming material and gigs.
