Rebirth to Ends is a Melodic Metalcore/Modern Thrash band based out of Bangor, Maine. Drawing on influences like As I Lay Dying, Becoming the Archetype, Trivium and Slayer, RTE creates a perfect blend of melody and brutality that appeals to a wide audience. The band relies heavily on the twin guitar attack of Jonathan and Brendan to create intricate passages and harmonies, as well as crushing unified rhythms. John Gladu, formerly of the widely popular local band “Soundbender,” is the backbone of the band with his shredding double bass and exceptional rhythmic sense on the drum kit. Drew Gladu (also ex-Soundbender) fronts the band as the voice of brutality. In January of 2012 the band recruited End of Idols guitarist Mike Grant on bass. What makes RTE so appealing to listeners is variety. The band makes it a point to strike a balance between catchy melodic passages and darker, ear-pummeling riffage. Songs progress from memorable singing choruses to mosh pit inducing verses that keep the listener engaged, but also maintain a unified sound. Vocal duty is split between Drew and Jonathan who are responsible for screams and clean singing respectively. This provides both an interesting dynamic in both sound and live performance. Those who have seen the band live can vouch for the energy and performance quality that RTE delivers.
