The band was formed in the late summer of 2003, when the drummer Matti Honkkila and bassist Pirkka Määttä decided to found a gospel heavy rock band. Their friend Olli Kauhanen was hired to play guitar, but so was also Pauli Jämsä. It turned out that Pauli was more of a keyboardist and so the project began, with Pauli doing also the vocals. Later that year a second guitarist, who was Matti's school companion Erno Mäkinen, joined the band. During winter Olli dropped out of the band. The first release and some first gigs took place at the Spring 2004. Their debut EP, entitled as "Totuus" ("The Truth") consisted of five songs. Next summer the band's formation took a new line-up as Pauli's friend Kalle Ruusukallio contacted the band and ended up as a vocalist for Realismi. August 2005 was an important month for Realismi, as it saw a change of the band's membership once again but also one of the most essential gigs they've had so far, which was in Ristirock. Realismi's gig at the Ristirock was also special because the same event saw the farewell concert of the band Terapia (in which Matti's father Antti played guitar). After Ristirock Pauli and Erno departed ways with the band and Jaakko Saarinen came to replace Erno in guitar. Kalle now started to take care of the keyboards as well. Later that year Realismi released a second EP entitled as "Määränpää" ("Destination"), including four new songs and a re-record of the song "Totuus", which appeared originally on the first EP. http
