Raul A. Morel Amparo was born in San Francisco de Macoris, in the Dominican Republic. His dreams led him to the United States, where his search of new horizons and of a world slightly different from everyday life opened the doors to his passion for singing. Audiences began to identify Raul Morel as a great interpreter of Ballads, Boleros, Salsa, Merengues, Bachatas and other genres of Latin music. As his desire for singing grew, he began to frequent “open mic” places and causing joy and gaining the warm applauds of many. His audience nicknamed him "Raul Raul" because of the striking similarity to José José through his vocal dominance and peculiar interpretations of many of “El Principe’s" songs. Later, Raul Morel continued to hone his skills as a professional singer by becoming a member to several musical groups in the DMV area, such as: Piloto 809 Live, Pablo Antonio y La Firma, Marcos y su Grupo Jalao and a host of others. Raul has penned more than (50) songs and poems to date which led him to an important step into his musical career by taking the initiative to record his own songs as well as paying tribute to one of his idols: Mr. Fernando Villalona by recording (2) of his famous ballads into Salsa. Raul Morel entrusts his steps to the will of God at all times. With his joy and his high charisma on stage, he preaches humility and authenticity.
