Rates of Exchange were formed in 2001 in Moscow. In the melancholy of post-communist urban landscape. The name is origially taken from Malcolm Bradbury's novel (1983) about travelling across non-existent socialist country in Eastern Europe. The idea behind the music is a simple pure emotion that comes from the modern life. And shifts in values that are fueled by human progress. And love. Rates of Exchange never claim to be non-profit. Rates of exchange are against violence and any restrictions on private property of individuals. For whatever reason.
