I'm not sure when it was I began to fall in love with video game music. Perhaps it's been so long I've forgotten. But I've always been in awe of music in video games, and those who create it. I remember the days when I had a Fisher Price recorder and I use to hum and beat box my own video game compositions in the toilet (it used to have a wicked reverb!) I'd have cassette's full of them. As a kid it was the only outlet I had, and it was something my parents never knew I did. It was always a secret. I did this for years until I was old enough to realize it was kinda stupid. So I retired. With my Uncle being a DJ during his early years and then becoming a sound engineer, he always had lots of audio equipment and use to 'make beats' as a hobby. I was used to hang around in his room / make shift studio. I never once let on I'd like to try composing. I just played dumb, standing in his doorway in a state of semi-awe. Surprisingly, one Christmas my Uncle bought me a MIDI keyboard. I was over the moon! And it was then I started to make music actual music for the first time. I enjoyed it so much, that it quickly became a hobby. A hobby only two of my friends knew about, and these two friends were the only people I let hear what I did: good or bad...until now!
