Rami Kleinstein (in Hebrew: רמי קלינשטיין) is a celebrated Israeli composer, pianist, and singer, widely regarded as one of Israel's most important musicians. His musical talent has earned him comparisons to Elton John and Billy Joel, due to his sophisticated piano playing, evocative lyrics, and ability to blend Israeli pop, rock, and ballads in his compositions. Since the early 1990s, Rami has been an influential figure in the Israeli music scene, creating a catalog that spans genres, from pop and rock to classical and jazz-influenced styles. His ability to blend Western influences with Israeli themes and his evocative lyricism helped redefine the sound of Israeli popular music. Before embarking on his successful solo career, Rami was a founding member of the band HaMoa'tza (in Hebrew: המועצה or רמי קלינשטיין והמועצה), active from 1983 to 1985. The band was known for its innovative harmonies and compositions, which laid the groundwork for Rami’s later solo work, allowing him to shape the direction of Israeli music in the years that followed. Rami’s first solo album was released in 1991, followed by a string of successful albums in the following years. In 1995, his album Tapuchim U'Tmarim (תפוחים ותמרים, "Apples and Dates") reached triple platinum status and earned him the title of "Singer of the Year" from Israeli Radio and Television.
