http://www.myspace.com/ramekins A 4 piece indie band from 4 corners of london, Ramekins have recently finished recording their debut EP "Intoxicate me" and haven't played their first gig yet! The band formed in early 2007, brought together by frontman Simon Kelsi. Mainly drawing their influences from bands like Kings of Leon and Grandaddy, their sound is also shaped by disco (I'm not awake) and breakbeat (Dirty mind) fuelled rhythms and dirty analog synths. "Intoxicate me" was recorded with producer Al McKinna and engineer Scott Little between Metropolis studios in Chiswick, and JackOfRats studios in Windsor. The record was mixed by Joe Hirst in Miloco studios, and took 4 months to complete. "We wanted to get the songs right. We were travelling back and forth between Windsor and London every night to put parts down - a lot of the lines were written in the studio which meant it took a lot longer. Now we're looking forward to getting on the road and getting the tracks heard!", says Kelsi. "We've been putting a lot of energy into getting the live set ready and we're really excited about the first gigs." Soon after finishing the record they were invited by sub.tv, the university tv network, to record some live music videos which are currently being edited. Once they're ready they will be shown in student union bars across the country. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
