Ramón Ferreñac (Zaragoza, 1763 - ibid., December 8, 1832) was a Spanish organist and composer. Son of Manuel Ferreñac (1740-1803), mentioned in the Basilica of the Pillar of Zaragoza for the first time in 1767. Initially he was dedicated to "ador of the organ", that is, lifter of the bellows - at that time for the organist Joaquín de Nebra - or "remove and put chorus books", simple works, and then go up the category of his works. In 1777 he took the position of first bass player, later becoming a teacher at the Colegio de Infantes del Pilar and a recognized musician. Therefore, it is assumed that his son, Ramón Ferreñac, was educated musically at the Colegio de Infantes del Pilar, despite the fact that there are no documentary evidence. He began his musical career as chapel teacher and organist of the Huesca cathedral, place for which he was appointed on June 8, 1781, at just 17 or 18 years old. He passed the oppositions beating Cayetano Aragüés, according to the decision of the judge, the chapel master of theCathedral of Barbastro. During his stay in Huesca he applied for the competitions for the master's degree in the Cathedral of Segovia on July 19, 1782, so he had to ask for permission, which he obtained. But since his absence would occur during the Feast of San Lorenzo, his father, Manuel, in the position of chapel master, and his former student, Manuel Antonio Sanclemente, had to replace him as an organist.
