Rainbow Promise was a Christian psychedelic rock band with strong country rock accents. The band was formed in Springfield, Missouri in 1972 and released an album "Rainbow Promise" on the small New Wine label. The band members were: Steve Powell (vocals + rhythm guitar), Richard Slaton (acoustic guitar), Dennis Jones (drums), Ric Bowers (lead guitar) and Leonard Brannon (bass guitar). 1972: THE RAINBOW PROMISE (New Wine - Wine Press LPS 259-01) This is religious rock very much in the same mould as Agape. The front cover quotes from the book of Revelations and depicts Christ surrounded by seven candlesticks. There are some naff country tracks on this extremely rare album which does have some good tracks. What might interest is the fuzzy guitar work on Someone You Need and the more melodic guitarwork on Get Ready and I've Got The Rebirth. The band were from Springfield, Missouri.
