Rags follows the story of Charlie Prince, his greedy, unloving stepfather (Arthur), spoiled stepbrothers (Andrew and Lloyd) and Kadee, a superstar with a simple-mis the music mogul father, Reginald Worth. Rags begins with Drake Bell's/Shawn's narration of the story. Then Charlie is seen performing for money on the street, where Shawn appears to "listen to his dream," and tells him he should be on an album. The next scene shows Kadee performing. Kadee is secretly frustrated with singing songs other people chose for her. Kadee wants the world to hear and see her for who she truly is. Charlie appears once again, singing and cleaning at his home (a karaoke place) where his stepfather appears to express his dislike towards Charlie (here it's understood that Charlie's mother is "gone" and has left everything to his stepfather). Later when Kadee's dog runs towards Charlie (on his way to put a CD in the talent search box) he and Kadee look at each other for a moment. Charlie's stepbrothers, who call themselves "Androyd," have no singing talent, but their father thinks otherwise. Once dropping off the CD Charlie sings up to work as a Janitor for Majesty Records, where Shawn makes sure that he gets the job. Later Charlie goes into a pawn shop, to pay money so he can buy his mom's piano back, which was sold by his stepfather. Working as a janitor for Majesty Records, Charlie has the opportunity to "mess around" and sing in the recording studio, unaware that Shawn is inside. Shawn startl
