Phebe and Harry met in 2005 on MySpace and five months later Harry had moved from Bundaberg to Adelaide so they could be together. Harry had been in Brisbane hardcore band Slain of Myself and was a keen piano and guitar player. Phebe had no previous musical endevours, other than the few years of recorder she did in primary school. They did their first gig in 2007 after getting air play on community radio stations like Adelaide's Three D. They have played with the likes of Tim & Jean, The John Steel Singers, Jonathan Boulet, That 1 Guy, Lovers Electric, Kid Confucius. They independently recorded their first EP called Extended Play which was reviewed by local magazine 'Excitement Machine' and described as " ... one of the best pure pop recordings we've heard in years. And oh my god, is that a recorder?". They have also been included on a few compilations including Three D Radio's Depthcharge 6 release, Excitement Machine's A Pretty Exciting Xmas CD as well as others from Japan and the United States. In late 2007 and again in 2008 they were chosen as a 'Spotlight Artist' on Triple J's Unearthed website and their song Ghosts and Ghouls was played on ABC's digital TV channel ABC2 as part of an Unearthed program. Not long after Vintage Piano was played on Triple J radio. Radio Spectacular!!!'s track You Light Me Up has been used for an Australia-wide Canon Ixus television commercial.
