Born in Blida in 1934, Rabah Driassa is an Algerian singer. Before his passion for music, the young Rabah was miniaturist and painter. He discovered in 1953 the radio broadcasting at Khaldoun in Algiers which proposed to the young singer singing his own musical composition. The boy was endowed with great morale qualities and all his lyrics and his songs were equal to his generosity of spirit. He began really his career with the Algerian independence. He became the ambassador of the Algerian song and participated in many tours in France and all Europe. Married and father of a boy Abdou ready to raise the flag, he sang often with his father. Rabah Driassa sings numerous song styles from patriotic to popular but also Bedouin. We can discover among his best compositions “Hizb Thouar” and too, “Nadjma Koutbia” or the song “Hizia”. The mainstay of Algerian song and music is also called “Algerian nightingale”. He’s the pride of the Algerian people. Singer and songwriter he put in value Algeria, the Algerian woman, love, the glory of the prophet Mohamed we can listen in his songs ”Najma Kotbia”, “Ya Toufaha” and “Antia derti l’Hannae” or “Al Moumarida”. Rabah Driassa is also a great artist appreciated by elder because he’s respectable and talented. His lyrics are very poetic and respectful, expressing female beauty and love, without vulgarity.
