Randy H.Y. Yau (whose albums use the initialism R.H.Y. Yau) is a sound artist, curator, designer and photographer who has been active in the sonic arts since 1993. He has performed and recorded a number of solo and collaborative works internationally, and founded the record label Auscultare Research Yau's work is inspired by the artistic movement of actionism and the processes of musique concrète, which he merges into the term "action-concrete." His work is physical and visceral, manipulating feedback, voice, body movement and acoustics to craft complex and dynamic compositions.
