about

Réseau d'ombres was formed in 1983 in Laval, France by Pierre-Louis "Ernst" Lamballais (vocals and synths), who was later joined by brothers Jean-Marc and Pierre-Yves "Karl" Hamard (respectively on bass and drums). They split in 1988, shortly after the release of their last effort, Faction. Their discography consists of several tapes, two 7" and two LPs. Their style is similar to the early Killing Joke, Bauhaus (on the bass), and to punk and death rock old school. Synths imitate the electric razor - which is specifically hypnotic. Accent is put on heavy rythm and continual basslines, howling voice and anxiogen mood. An "obscure reference", influencial in France and globally in the new wave, cold wave and cold core galaxy.
