Quotes Dawson is a hip hop emcee from Warren, Ohio. He started writing and recording songs at the young age of 14 along with his childhood friends, one of whom happens to be a producer by the name of TreTracks. After getting a set of turntables and a mixer with a 20 second sampler for Christmas one year, Quotes Dawson and his crew began to record their own music. Through his high school years, Quotes Dawson crafted his own style and earned a reputation by battling and performing at numerous talent shows around the area. At the same time, a young TreTracks was recording and perfecting his own brand of hip hop production. After being featured on two of DJ Mick Boogie's nationally distributed mixtapes in his early twenties, Quotes began to get serious about his musical passion. After a few years of practice and development, he and TreTracks started the creative process for his first solo album titled Making Due. The album is a reflection of life in a once thriving area of north eastern Ohio, which has been economically depressed due to increased crime, job loss, and lack of opportunity. Making Due is about using the resources that are available to the best of your ability, even through the hardships and struggles life can sometimes present. With their influences ranging from rock and jazz to 80s and 90s hip hop, this duo plans to creatively leave their own unique mark in the universe of music.
