Straight from the mouth of Quinn Scharber And The…’s very own Joe Kirschling…a take on what it’s like to be a band in a city that can either say ‘yay’ or ‘nay’ in a heartbeat. A very fickle nest in which to drop your album into if you’re the sort of band who are the frail of heart. Fortunately, this isn’t the case for the members of Milwaukee’s proprietors of a particularly engaging blend of garage, blues and power pop: Quinn Scharber (guitar, vocals), Thom Geibel (bass), Joe Kirschling (drums, percussion), Josh Gjellestad (percussion) are most certainly not frail of heart even though their music is very heart on sleeve. Kirschling points out “It takes a confident person to write songs that bare all and don’t hide behind bullshit.” Bullshit is the last word that could ever be used to describe the band’s ideals or their sound which has influences written by Teenage Fanclub The Replacements, Big Star, Wilco and even the Jesus and Mary Chain -- hardly anything that could be called the basis for a snub.
