Quiltro, intelligent rock a la Mildlife, from Burlington, Vermont is: Mark Taylor - guitar, keys JD Hoffmann - drums Mike McKinley - bass QUILTRO – pronounced /ˈkil.tɾo/ noun (Chilean) Street Dog The music of Quiltro is a tribute to the street dogs living in the Andes village of Farellones. It was hearing those howls during the nights spent in those high mountains where the music of Burlington, Vermont’s Quiltro was conceived. Comprised of three musicians who travelled on the same train during different times in their lives, Quiltro is a musical journey that brings together a range of sounds, influences, and emotions. Mark Taylor’s thick ambient guitar and keyboard textures float above Mike McKinley’s melodic bass lines and JD Hoffmann’s driving drums creating a psychedelic wall of sound that builds and pulls on the heart strings. This is modern psych rock at its best. In 2020, Quiltro released their self-titled debut record. Often described as the soundtrack for a dystopian sci-fi film that has yet to be made, Quiltro’s music is an emotional journey that transcends space and time, lifting the listener into a cloud of interstellar groove. Their self-titled record is music that fits perfectly into the times in which it was made, reflecting the peaks and valleys of life in the modern world.
