The wall-of-sound offered by the four-guy band QGMR (or previously Quagmire) sounds most like their fellow Stolkholm band, the now-defunct Seven Feet four. Perhaps this isn't surprising -- from the same town, drawing from similar influences, Quagmire takes the joy of hard-indie guitar even harder. Melodic yet tough, QGMR's debut album Quiet Is Not Loud (2003) was compared to bands like The (International) Noise Conspiracy, At The Drive-in and Shellac. Lyrics dealt with politics and world events, setting meaning to harsh music. A second release, No Language (2006), continued their punk-laced indie sound, and their latest album, We Know We Don't Know (2008) remains militantly (har) anti-war and anti-consumerist.
