QBoyID (pronounced Q-Boy-I-D), formed in 2007, is a four piece “eclectic electronica” band consisting of members Sean Phillips (Synths, Vocals), Ollie Sloan (Vocals, Sampler and Mixing), Nat Reading (Synth, Guitar and Bass) and Martin Rowe (Programming, Keytar). The members all have very different, but complimentary, musical backgrounds; a singer/songwriter, a born and bred classical instrumentalist, a music-lover grown up on punk, indie and extremely good taste, and a composer. Separated they are musicians, together they are QBoyID. QBoyID pride themselves on their diversity as an electronic band, and state their main influences as Daft Punk, Hot Chip, London Elektricity, Benny Benassi and Justice, but as of yet, have found no limit to their boundaries in terms of electronic genres. QBoyID live is a spectacle which can only be experienced in person. Along with their infamous laser fuelled lighting, they have never failed to punch a crowd in the gut, and melt their face (in a good way, of course.) In the future, QBoyID plan to carry on writing songs nothing like anything they’ve made before, and will continue to enjoy encouraging large groups of people to jump around and wave their arms.
