Pumajaw are Scottish singer/songwriter/concertina player Pinkie Maclure and English multi-instrumentalist/producer John Wills, a former member of UK art-rock bands Loop and The Hair and Skin Trading Co. ‘Similar artists’ are largely spurious. Pumajaw have recorded 3 albums under this name, moving from hypnotic folktronica and minimalist torch songs to dark, cinematic synth-pop, anchored by Pinkie’s extraordinary voice, with its velvety shades of gospel, heavenly wails and neurotic squeals.
