Artist
Founder members Nigel Stringfellow (bass) and Darren Levy (gtr and vocals) met at University in south east UK in 1988 and began writing together. The first results meant the arrival of the five piece glasshouses (1989) with Tim Maginnis on drums / vocals and a couple of other muscians (names not known). The band began gigging and went through the first of several name changes, resulting in the left field name of pulaski swam (1992 - became a four piece) and finally syrup in their final years. With the addition of guitarist Mark Schofield at this time their sound was complete. They disbanded in 1995. Touting a melodic alternative guitar based britpop / indie they briefly garnered a reputation as a kick ass live band on the UK toilet circuit with an avant garde lyricism. They signed briefly to little known indie Isobel records and released the hunnishake ep which garnered cool reviews but no sales. Other recordings were made and are presented on last.fm for the first time. Destined to remain a cult act, bassist Nigel went on to form sonatone and then joined driven to collision (see elsewhere on last fm). Guitarist Mark continues to make music as DJ Scobi. The whereabouts / activites of other former members remains unknown. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
