Protect the Citizen is an instrumental electronic artist based in the West Midlands, originating from Leicester, UK. Protect the Citizen formed in early 2009 creating raw instrumental rock music using layers of guitars, awkward drum grooves and piano contrasts. After recording a few early demo's, recording fell a little behind schedule taking two years before completing his debut album 'all these things if you promise not to die', which was released early may 2011 on Breaking the Broken Records. Protect the Citizen a.k.a Dave Voss, previously the drummer for Post-Rock Outfit Maybeshewill, begun work on the solo instrumental project back in 2009 under the alias Protect the Citizen. Protect the Citizens sound has developed over the years into a more electronic /ambient focused sound heavily featuring arpeggiated glockenspiel, soft electronic piano, and awkward, glitchy electronic beats. A sound that will be enjoyed by fans of Tycho, The Album Leaf, Shigeto, Isan, Helios, Melorman.
