Pronouns (normally stylized simply as "pronouns") is a Baltimore, Maryland based solo project started in 2011 by Chris Speights, who has been in a number of bands in and around the Maryland scene, including 96 Olympics (guitar/vocals), Have Mercy (bass), and more. The music is primarily alternative/emo with most early recordings being acoustic guitar and vocals, but expanding to include some electric guitar and drums as time went on. pronouns has released a number of EP's on the official bandcamp page, including Cheers to the Past (2011), December Demos (2012), The Day The World Turned Over (2012), and Anchor (2017). A self-titled EP, pronouns was released in February 2018, accompanied by an official music video release for the song Exodus In America, and is available both on the bandcamp page and Spotify. In June of 2018, pronouns played their first ever full band set, featuring Eduardo Camacho of 96 Olympics on bass and Ian Bell on drums in addition to Chris on guitar/vocals at the Sidebar in Baltimore, MD. Late 2018/early 2019 saw some pretty big changes for pronouns starting with the permanent addition of Mike DuCote (ex-Suburbs) on bass/vocals to the full band lineup. On March 29, 2019, pronouns celebrated the dual release of a full-length solo LP entitled How to Cope With Losing Someone You Barely Know as well as the first professional recordings of the full band on a companion EP entitled CØPE. which features several songs from the LP reworked for the full band an
