In 2001 the music scene in Birmingham, AL was.... tired, suffering much in the same way most of the music world seemed to, in the late 90s to 2001. Much of the music of that period was.... well, forgetable. In the fall of 2001, the Live music scene of Birmingham was grabbed hard and shaken awake with the emergence of Promise the Ghost. To the stage, Promise the Ghost brings a raw energy and passion the is unique and completely their own. Between the bands chemistry, ability and sincere passion for the music they play, they consistantly seem to ...well, the only word to really use is..they "INFECT" the crowds they perform for. It is not an uncommon occurance to suddenly find it hard to hear the band, due to the entire crowd singing along with ever word, ever pause, or ever raised inflection and drowning out the band at the same time (At least in the venues with smaller P.A.s). Within almost no time at all after the surfacing of Promise The Ghost, there was a resurgence in the music scene of Birmingham. People started coming out to see shows again. Energy creates energy, and Promise The Ghost was the catalyst in a major explosion that is still growing in a currently thriving and healthy music scene. ----JO23 News 12/1/06 "We are proud to announce that our good friend David Smith has joined the band to play guitar.
