There are two artists known as Prince Polo: (1) Reggae/dub artist and producerPrince Polo aka Billy Szeflinski, is a Brooklyn based dub producer, musician, and engineer, following in the tradition of reggae producers like King Tubby and Henry “Junjo” Lawes. He has been making a name for himself in the reggae scene since the late 90's as a writer/performer/and producer, and has recently been gaining recognition for his progressive approach to recording and mixing reggae and dub music. As a sound engineer at The Kennel Studios in Bushwick, he's been the man behind the board for live and studio sessions with such artists as Lee Scratch Perry, Eek a Mouse, Ranking Joe, Ruff Scott, Rootz Underground,Destroy Baylon, I Wayne, Rebelution, The Expendables,Inner Circle and Ultra-magnetic MCs, just to name a few. Prince Polo was also a member of the Brooklyn Dub Rockers, The Cool & Deadly. As a drummer, he toured with them nationally in support of their 2009 LP, Rude Boys Revenge. In 2010, he explored new realms of dub and science with the infusion of a horn section, Dub Select, featuring Troy Sims and Omar Little from the Mobius Collective and Lee Scratch Perry. Incorporating the horn section in the studio as well as in live performances has expanded the versatility of the overall sound and pushed the boundaries of the dub genre.
