An artist from New Orleans, Louisiana, born April 3rd, 1996. He, along with a few other artists, run an independent music and art collective based in a suburb outside New Orleans called Birthday Tape. http://priima.bandcamp.com/ https://www.facebook.com/priimasound http://www.soundcloud.com/priimasound Priima is the audio/visual synth pop project of Louisiana high school student Ryan Rees. His first exposure to music was compromised of Enya cassette tapes and piano lessons, both of which eventually would catch up with him. In 2012 he began working on his first twisted, cassette-drenched vocal synth pop album entitled Staircase Anthem, which was released in early 2014. Following the faintly self-promoted release, he performed his colorfully dark VHS pop at multiple DIY concerts set up within his small suburban collective known as Birthday Tape, inciting 80’s new wave nostalgia and 90’s IDM and vocal pop playfulness. He is currently working on a follow up record that began production before the debut work, and some of these new songs are to be included in his new, renovated live show.
