Pray for Sleep is a Rock/Metal band from Columbus, Ohio. Members Grant DeCrane (vocals), Hayden Kissler (guitar), Ethan Carlson (guitar, vocals) and Reno Houston (drums) came together over their love of music and overall goal of helping others. For example, four Grandview Heights High School students teamed up with counselor Bryan Stork to organize an assembly in March featuring the band Pray for Sleep, a group of adolescents that uses metal music to raise awareness about mental-health struggles and that was recently in partnership with Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Formed while still in high school in early 2017, the band released their first single in June. “Bittersweet” garnered 2 weeks of Battle of the Buzz wins upon its release. Encouraged, the band continued writing. With an EP released in December 2017, the band was armed with material they would need to make an impact on the local Columbus music scene. Competing in 99.7 The Blitz’s Battle for the Range, the quartet of youngsters, just old enough to enter the venue, Bethel Road Pub, delivered a blistering set of music with their high energy show. Their performance earned them the win. Having won the battle, their sights were set on putting on a killer performance at Rock on the Range 2018. Picked up by local news affiliates, members had to skip their high school graduation taking place the same day to play the show.
