about

Pow Pow Family Band, the self-described “worst cult in America,” was born during Miles Robbins’ time at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, United States. Elements of the band’s musical style are derived from its namesake song, “Pow Pow” from LCD Soundsystem’s 2010 album, This is Happening. After bonding over a shared appreciation for this album, Robbins and classmate Nara Shin began to play underground shows together around Providence and gradually found collaborators. Since then, the band’s lineup has been in constant rotation. The band's debut album, All Right, was created over the course of a one-month trip to upstate New York and was released on February 9, 2018, via Modern Sky USA. Their second album, The Palm and Other Parts, was released on January 5, 2024. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
