Winnipeg, Manitoba is a desolate place, the winters are cold and the summers are scorching, leaving the city's abundance of musicians to spend their hours/days/months locked in their basements and jam spots, perfecting their craft and honing their talents. Port Amoral could be the perfect example of this, a band who concentrates on the finer details and takes their music as seriously as anything else in their lives. The band rose from the ashes of other local Winnipeg bands; Volition, Figure Four, The Cast, and Den Of Iniquity, and started playing together in the fall of 2004. With the main focus of the band’s assembly on people who could work together, share the same ideas, and play music as a tight unit, while giving the crowd the best live show possible. Port Amoral plays metal and hardcore, yet fuses the two in a way like no other. In a metal genre that sometimes seems void of emotion, passion, and possesses poor lyrical content, Port Amoral breaks away from the rest and trys to convey real messages; based on life experiences, some good, some horrible.
