Formed in New Orleans in 2008, PonyKiller's sound embodies an aural amalgam composed of progressive psychedelic rock and hardcore elements coated with glassy pop sheen. The musical product is the synthesis of individual players in the group, who hail from California and Louisiana. Lead singer/rhythm guitarist Collin Yeo amplifies his haunting melodic lyrics with a spacey surf atmosphere. Lead guitarist Ben Deffendall juxtaposes Yeo's sound with etherial vibe and pointed metal edge. Tim Nolan combines classic jazz drumming with bombastic movement and grooves in an eclectic rhythm experience. Trevor Darling straddles the boundaries created by the cast around him as he steadily reinforces cadence while venturing out on speculative bass tangents.
