London-based Polaroid 85 combine haunting vocals, deep bass, intricate orchestral layers and glitchy samples to create downtempo, cinematic music. Their soulful, piano-led compositions are infused with elements of jazz, liquid drum’n'bass, trip hop, broken-beat, world, classical and folk music, taking the listener on a varied sonic journey. Polaroid 85 were formed in 2011 after singer-composer-producer Neeta Sarl gained interest from established BBC Radio DJ’s including Tom Robinson (6Music) and Bobby Friction (Radio 1, Asian Network) for early demo tracks. Upon moving to London, she recruited an army of talented musicians to help breathe life into her songs and take things to the next level.
