Playa is the name of, at least, two artists: 1. Playa (플레야) was a four-member South Korean girl group under Owl Production. Originally as a trio, consisting of Rabo, Dayeon and Ajeong, they debuted on November 23, 2012 with the digital single "Say In My Song". The group presumably disbanded in late 2014 due to inactivity. 2. Playa is an American R&B trio. Comprised of members Steve "Static" Garrett, Smokey, and Black, Playa is best known for their 1997 hit single, "Cheers 2 U", produced by longtime collaborator Timbaland. Static is notable for being a successful songwriter of hit singles and album tracks for artists such as Ginuwine, Aaliyah, Truth Hurts, and Brandy.
