Plastic Penny was a British psychedelic rock band active in the late 60s. Their single "Everything I Am" (a cover of Box Tops' tune) charted in 1967, but they never managed another hit. They released two LPs Two Sides of a Penny (1968) and Currency (1969) and a few singles before breaking up. Several members of the band went on to prominence in other bands: drummer/singer Nigel Olsson (The Spencer Davis Group, Uriah Heep, Elton John), keyboardist Paul Raymond (Chicken Shack, Savoy Brown, UFO), guitarist Mick Grabham (Cochise, Procol Harum). It is reported that member Tony Murray played in a later version of The Troggs. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
