Planet Cheat Code is a lo-fi, indie folk-rock project by Australian musician Elliott Sargent. The songs’ themes tend to involve love, sadness and political disdain. In late 2024, Planet Cheat Code released his first demo EP “Bedroom Demos 2024,” consisting of five songs (excepting the opening track) recorded “live” on a semi-acoustic guitar through an amp and the vocals recorded simultaneously on a condenser microphone. Planet Cheat Code released his debut album “Songs for the Hopelessly Optimistic” on April 4th, 2025. Its sound focused on a blend of acoustic guitar and electronic keyboards. The most popular and well-received tracks were ‘Points for Trying,’ ‘The Sophisticated Nature of You,’ and ‘Planet Cheat Code Joins the Bolshevik Revolution.’ Later on in June, PCC released three previously unreleased bonus tracks that had been left off of the album as b-sides to the main singles. Later that year, the synth-punk/twee-hop EP "Down With Planet Cheat Code!!!" was released on August 1st. The songs continued the themes of the first album whilst taking a primarily keyboard-oriented sound. The second album "Humans Capable of Hurting," was released on January 16th, 2026. It evolved the sound further in folk-rock and even slacker rock, relying more heavily on distorted guitars and wailed vocals. The lyrical themes of the first record remained on tracks such as "Will This Feeling Ever Pass?" and "Let's Just Believe," but often became more political, as seen on "The Socialist Q
