"PLAEDO" is a Modern/Post Rock, Experimental and Live Electronics recording project from Central Florida, namely Volusia County. A project which recorded a still unreleased album and some singles from 2002 - 2004 after the disbanding of the more trendy metal band they were both in together beforehand. "PLAEDO" is essentially a collaborative side project of 2 distinctive musicians. The obvious talent in outfit is the prolific songwriter, guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist known as: Joel Caldwell; aka "Joelephant". Caldwell holds down much of the vocal duties and is the chief song-writer and melody-maker in this projekt. His previous musical endeavors include: Dickie Clarke, Divine Right, & 57 Hev. E. While Joel C. is usually out front and center singing like a bluebird, and rockin everything from acoustic n' electric Guitars, to Bass, to Piano, to Vocals. The other member of this 2-man project who supplies the production and recording, as well as all the more eccentric elements ala electronic percussion, synth, samples, sound effects, and back up vocals is: Gar Bailey; aka "alGARhythm" of Hairy Sloth Records. Bailey concentrates on much of the underlying subtleties, the molten motivations, and rhythmic shamanisms.. which really helps keep the project's sound diverse and sometimes even experimental, to go right along side the more well crafted, more traditional indie rock song-smithing that Caldwell brings to the table.
