Piotr Wyleżoł - pianist, composer, and improviser, enjoyed by a wide range of listeners – musicians as well as music fans, young and old. Born on December 6th, 1976, he was already playing in public and winning prizes at competitions as a child, performing a classical repertoire. At the age of 10, he appeared with the Rybnik Philharmonic Orchestra, playing piano concertos by Mozart and Beethoven. He completed his primary education at the Karol and Antoni Szafranek Public Music School in Rybnik, studying piano under Romana Fritz. In 1995, he graduated from the piano class of Irena Kryszczukajtis at the Karol Szymanowski Public Musical Lyceum in Katowice, after which he went on to study under Wojciech Niedziela at the Jazz Institute of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in that same city, receiving his Master's degree in 2000. In October 2007, he joined the faculty of the recently established College of Jazz and Contemporary Music at the Academy of Music in Krakow, as a piano instructor. For years now, Piotr Wyleżoł has been recognised as one of Poland's premier jazz pianists. His career on the jazz stage began while still in college, performing with groups led by Janusz Muniak, Jarosław Śmietana, Marek Bałata and other major Polish jazz musicians. As a student, he was also awarded numerous prizes and distinctions at various competitions and festivals - including the Jazz Juniors Competition in Krakow, where he took first prize in 1998, the Pomeranian Jazz Autu
