Pijar, an Indie Pop Dance Rock unit, started in Medan, May 14, 2013, with 4 personnel that shares of loving The Cure, Joy Division, New Order, Pulp, Franz Ferdinand, etc; The Members are: Alfred a.k.a. Jakjek (Vox, Guitar), Ican (Lead Guitar), Lizam (Bass), and Aul (Drum). Pijar, literally, means Light in Melayu language, the name they took in hoping they can lighten up a new color for Indonesian music scene. With the fusion of those british sounds, Medan believe them as their newest indie gem. Having released an EP (The Sound of Youth), and Album (Exposure, 2016, Etalase Records), also some singles (Cinta Remaja, Boogie Night, Love For Love, and Selatan), in 2015 the band moved to Jakarta, purpose for introduce Medan's indie scene to Indonesian people. To all music lovers everywhere , Pijar hopes his presence can be accepted by the people, especially friends in the city of Medan. Able to survive and produce works far better . And is able to penetrate the national market .
