PIG EYES, an almost improbable constellation consisting of members from such diverse bands as In Solitude, Nitad, Kvoteringen and Trapdoor Fucking Exit. Originally conjured up as a valve to vent the more cumbersome expressions in everyday life, where freedom without responsibility has been the primary word on our mindmap in the practice space and teraphims quickly dismissed as mere chains around the ankle rather than direction. Two side projects were embroiled as one true confederation. Suddenly we found each other; two guitarists, two drummers, a bassist and a singer as a shared brain, conjoined fetus, a six-fold father figure or what have you. Stare into the deep-set eyes of the Pig. Pig Eyes Homepage User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
# On Pig Eyes This album warrants consideration because it documents a genuine collision of creative perspectives. Assembled from musicians across several established projects, it functions less as a vanity exercise than as a deliberate experiment in collaborative restraint—the stated refusal of responsibility as artistic principle rather than excuse. The resulting sound benefits from this philosophical clarity: guitarists and drummers working in tandem create textural possibilities most bands never explore, while the shared vocal approach suggests less ego than genuine dialogue. What emerges is music that feels archaeologically honest, interested in what emerges when skilled musicians prioritize exploration over predetermined outcomes. The album's commitment to freedom as a compositional method makes it genuinely curious listening.
