Pier Nineteen are a three-piece band from Galway, Ireland . The band was formed when Keith Mullins decided to record some of his songs in a small home studio in Galway . With the help of two friends, Colm Clancy and Brian Caffrey, they spent a full summer recording and playing new songs and eventually had a demo album recorded. From these recordings they decided to release an EP. In the middle of all this one of the first songs they recorded together '2-39am December' was featured on a compilation of Irish unsigned bands which entered the Irish charts at number 6. The band also got to play with some of the other bands from the compilation at the launch night in the Temple Bar Music Centre, Dublin to a sell-out crowd. This gig was one of the bands first and helped raise their profile outside of Galway. Shortly after this, the band released the much sought after 'Knocking Two Stones..' EP with a nationwide tour, the highlight being a sold-out show in Galway 's An Taibhdhearc Theatre. Since then the band have played support to bands such as Bell x1, Martin Finke & Lucas, and have built up a small, but loyal fan-base all over Ireland. This summer sees the band release their debut album "At Evensong" on the 28th July with an Irish tour to follow. More news on this to follow...
