The band Pickpocket was formed in June 2000 in Istanbul. The band members are Onur Ozgonul on vocals, Muratay Ozkan on bass guitar, Emir Celt on drums and Kaan Yayla and Barbaros Ozoktar on guitars. At first, the band started by writing songs in English, and in January 2003 they competed at Roxy Music Awards with a song called “Just Wait For Me” which they recorded with the lead singer, Deniz Yilmaz, of the band “Kurban”. That year, they achieved great success by winning the “Efes Dark Muzik Gunleri” and they also won the “Efes Dark Ozel Odulu” by receiving 63 percent of the votes which was determined by five thousand people. After “Roxy Music Gunleri”, Pickpocket performed in many concerts, festivals, TV and radio shows. The band continued to write their songs in English until the end of 2004. They managed to draw attention with their first Turkish song called “ilk”. After getting positive responses from the listeners, Pickpocket decided to continue to write their music in Turkish. The band performed in countless festivals and organizations for the next two years. They especially gained their success with their energetic, full-blooded stage performances. After deciding to collect their songs in an album, Pickpocket began to work with the leadership of Umit Kuzer and Martin Cru Spencer. The whole recording process took about a year.
