PICA PICA is the solo project of the Oslo-based German shoegaze sweetheart Rebekka Maria Markstein (also of ‘Road Movie’, and formerly ‘Maribel’). Over the years she has been secretly writing and recording delightfully unique and dreamy melodies in her bedroom while no one is looking. Her recently released ‘Oh Captain! My Captain! EP’ is a self-produced collection of songs of star-crossed love, revenge and lullabies that takes you to the low places of her soul and rises you up like a phoenix from the ashes. Her live shows are like theater stages with her siren voice pulling you deep into cardboard forests. The EP marks the beginning of a new direction for this East German globetrotting songstress as her playful, sentimental songwriting takes center stage.
