(M.C., sounds), Corndog (sounds, production), Easy Mac (voice, verse), Dirty Bird (“Svengali”) It was a warm summer night of friends sitting around having a few drinks when a disturbing and silly idea crept into the air. Like many such ideas, it could have drifted off on the summer breeze, never to be thought again, but something made it linger. Someone had “put their peanut butter in the chocolate” and there was no way to dismiss the possibilities. Call it “homo-hop”, “gay-gangsta”, “fag funk” or whatever you like, but the elements all came into alignment with striking ease. Within minutes, there was a group name, a CD title, a hand sign and a barrel full of song ideas. Within a few days, the first tracks started to pop out of the studio and the Phudge Packerz were born. Prof. P.I.G. was the first to lay down the groove, but Corndog & Dirty Bird soon followed, bringing in the Easy Mac and, finally, T-Bag to round out the mix. It was a quick blast of production at first and then a slow smolder for a year, but, once all the elements were in place, the next two years saw everything come to
