Phlip Coggins was born on the dusty dry plains of West Texas on March 27, 1985. From the age of 12 he has been writing songs and creating music, beginning his professional career at 17. Throughout his life he has learned a myriad of intruments with the exception of brass, and woodwinds. (Ask him why). Through very diverse bands the artist has managed to touch multiple genres, focusing on the integrity of the songwriting and the tru-to-form style. However in the past year, Phlip has expanded his sound and learned a little more about his own roots, gathering sounds and ideas from other West Texas greats...the music is always growing. Phlip is most notably recognized for his Reggae, however, there are subtleties in the style that still reflect the influence of his hometown...call it Dustbowl Reggae.
