Artist
Phillip Prince an Ohio native, grew up listening to various styles of music. He took a huge liking to rap acts such as Wu-tang clan, Mobb Deep, Nas, OutKast, Dr.Dre and R&B acts liked New Edition and Marvin Gaye. Also He really loved the smooth sounds of Sade, Amy Winehouse and his Dads favorite gospel group called Commissioned and even his dads singing as he lead songs in the Church Chior. Coming from a childhood with divorced parents he would drift away in his headphones and dream of being an artist like all of his favorites. Singing in the church choir at 12 years old Phillip started to record music himself singing along to the easy listening radio station with his tape recorder as his "studio". It became a hobby. The love for music grew with him and he began writing out his ideas. Each year he had a new Phillip Prince tape and that was his so called new album. Losing his dad to a heart attack in 2001, Phillip became more serious about writing original music. He has performed his songs on stages such as the civic center and the beautiful Massillon Women's Club castle. His objective is to make music for people who love life and take it for it's joy and pain while making the best of it.
