Founded: 1968 (1974) - New York, NY, USA Since its first concert appearances in 1974 under the creative leadership of founder and conductor Richard Kapp, Philharmonia Virtuosi of New York (= PVNY) has received critical acclaim throughout its history. The ensemble has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, and has toured throughout the USA, Europe, Japan, and Asia. In 1991, Philharmonia Virtuosi was made the resident orchestra of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The orchestra also performs for the world-famous art cruises of the Cunard Line aboard the Vistafjord and the QEII. Philharmonia Virtuosi's "Greatest Hits of 1720" and successor albums and CD's for CBS Masterworks/SONY Classical rank among the best selling classical recordings ever made. The orchestra has made 20 recordings for ESS.AY Records including Antonio Vivaldi's Four Seasons, and J.S Bach's Brandenburg Concertos.
