Phil Daniels, (born October 25, 1958 in Islington, London), is a graduate of the Anna Scher Theatre School in Islington, England. He made his acting debut in a BBC-TV production of Verdi's Falstaff. The protagonist of the Who's 1979 film, Quadrophrenia (playing the main character Jimmy), and a year later starring in the punk movie Breaking Glass with Hazel O'Connor, Phil Daniels has continued to make his presence felt as an actor. In addition to appearing in such films as Class Of Miss MacMichael, Zulu Dawn, and Scum and British television shows including Raven, Hanging Around Scum, Country Wife, Four Idle Hands, Sunnyside Farm and Sex, Clips And Rock'n'Roll, Daniels has appeared in numerous theatrical productions with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Daniels was a featured voice in the 2000 animated film, Chicken Run. Daniels first attracted attention with his lead guitar playing and gutsy vocals. He was a member of British rock band, Renoir, in the late-1970s. He released his debut album, with his London, (or more precise, King's Cross)-based mod-rock band Phil Daniels + The Cross, in 1979. The band was short-lived. After a couple of months both Phil Daniels and keyboard player Peter Hugo-Daley went on as actors. As a guest-vocalist, Phil Daniels made an important contribution to Blur's song 'Parklife'. In 2006 he joined the cast of the popular BBC Soap Opera EastEnders playing Kevin Wicks.
